I had some fuck from Twitter try to scam me over that pink iPhone 4 bumper I was trying to buy for @samanthasarai. His real name is David Schon (@tlaptoprepair) and he is from Toronto, Canada. I knew right after I sent the payment I wasn’t receiving it, primarily because I had asked him for pics and he said, “I can take it out and put it on my girls iphone for a pic if you’d really like” which is when I knew something was wrong. He’s from Canada, the iPhone 4 isn’t out in Canada, and I highly doubt his girlfriend has an unlocked unit from Europe.
I had sent him an email asking him if he had shipped it yesterday, he said he didn’t use my FedEx account, that he had used his own account because the charges weren’t too steep. This is the second red flag, you’re obviously using my account to ship internationally, now that you’re back from NYC over the weekend and shipping from Toronto. I wasn’t able to file the claim yesterday, because I had to wait for it to appear as if he attempted to ship it, which he had not. I ended up filing a claim with PayPal around 2PM CST today.
I emailed him asking for the tracking information, since I had asked him to ship FedEx priority overnight, I should’ve received it by 10:30AM. This was at 1PM, I received no response. I initiated a claim at 2PM, in which he responded to the PayPal email within 10 minutes, and I have still yet to receive a response from him.
I filed the dispute with PayPal, over a whopping $50; which they said I couldn’t escalate to a claim until the 16th, therefore I decided to turn to American Express. Amex dispute department, well, I’ll just quote a friend, “Amex dispute department >>> OJ Simpson’s dream team.” That’s putting it lightly, essentially, they don’t lose. Therefore after filing the claim with Amex, as you can see in the screen shot below, PayPal falls back and Amex takes over.
Regardless, I’m getting my money back, but I find it pathetic that this fuck tried to scam me over $50. Lesson be learned, don’t scam someone that read people for a living; you’ll never succeed. And on top of that, never scam someone that solely uses an American Express, they have a fucking army behind their transactions. What a dumb ass.
